A film editor works with layers of images, the pace and rhythm of the story, and the shaping the actors' performances. In effect, the editing process amounts to extensively redirecting and rewriting the film. RAFT helps you learn to tell a story through skillful editing: through the artful assembling of shots and adding of dramatic tension to the narrative.

Course Overview

This is a specialized editing course for drama and documentary. Students acquire problem solving techniques relevant to real production environments. Students will be taught to respond professionally, to give their feedback and to develop collaborative skills and relationships. Through lectures, demonstrations, classes by industry guest speakers, students will learn to explore the creative and technical aspects of editing.

By the end of the course, students will have a thorough knowledge of editing drama and documentary, and acquire all relevant technical skills.
