The true challenge and reward of film direction comes from the sheer scale and multidisciplinary nature of the endeavor. It is for the director to bring everyone associated with the film onto the same page, at the same time, with complete involvement. The film-making process, which begins with a director’s vision, succeeds only when it becomes the vision of all persons collaborating in its production.

RAFT gives you an opportunity to experiment with and master all aspects of this art.

Screenplay writing forms a part of the Direction course. It is the screenplay writer’s job to structure an original or given idea into a coherent, engaging narrative that forms the basis for the production of a film or television program. The subjects and themes can range from light entertainment and comedy to serious drama and documentary. A script writer must develop the ability to come up with a constant stream of ideas for situations, characters, and storylines.

RAFT exposes students to theoretical aspects and theories of screenwriting and then provides ample opportunity to hone ones writing skills.
